Writers Faire

I will be selling and signing books with over 40 other authors on Tuesday, December 1, starting at 7 p.m. at the Willamette Writers Faire. If you're in the Portland area, stop by the Old Church (corner of SW 11th and Clay) and do some serious Christmas shopping--while supporting local artists. There will also be an Open Mic for people who would like to pitch their books or their stories. I would love to see you there!

Happy National Adoption Month

I can’t think about adoption without thinking about the orphans around the world, many who will never be adopted. There are so many worthy causes to donate to, and one is Children’s Hope International’s Help an Orphan campaign. Thirty-five dollars will buy a dozen chickens for the Bright Hope Garden in Ethiopia that serves children who have lost parents to AIDS and leprosy. Seventy dollars will buy food, clothing, and a blanket for a street child in India. Other amounts will help feed, cloth, and educate orphans in China and Vietnam. As we approach Thanksgiving and Christmas, consider giving to the “least of these.”
